Neusiedlersee DAC heads to London
On 17 October, 14 of Neusiedlersee DAC’s leading family-run producers will assemble in London to showcase more than 200 of the Austrian region’s wine treasures.
Neusiedlersee DAC, situated by Lake Neusiedl just south of Vienna and close to the border with Hungary, is a haven for many great grape varieties, with the region’s Zweigelt proving adept at providing a huge range of expressions, from sparkling, fresh and fruity, to oaked and intensely structured. The region, 6,110 hectares of which are under vine, is also home to a number of other varieties, including Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir.
The tasting on Tuesday 17 October at the Institute of Contemporary Art will see representatives from some of the region’s revolutionary wineries in attendance, including: Allacher Vinum Pannonia, Artisan Wines, Gebrüder Nittnaus, Weingut Georg Preisinger, Hannes Reeh, Moser Weine, Münzenrieder Wein, Preinerwein, Pöckl, Salzl Seewinkelhof, Weingut Kummer, Weingut Lentsch, Weingut Markus Iro, and NESTOR Neukamp & Stadler.
In addition to the Neusiedlersee DAC wines showcased, there will also be more than 100 wines from other regions of Austria to provide an overview of the rest of the country’s oenological offering.
Tuesday 17 October, 10am to 4pm. The Institute of Contemporary Art, Brandon & Nash room, access via 12 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AH.
