Man claims that ghost made him drink whiskey
Footage of a ghost hunter drinking shots of whiskey, supposedly at the behest of a different kind of spirit, has gone viral on social media.
@discovery “I want to drink that right now… it’s the weirdest thing.” Why does this #ghost want the crew to drink? #Haunted #ghostadventures #fyp ♬ original sound – Discovery
The clip, posted on the Discovery channel’s official TikTok account, which has more than 6.5 million followers, comes from an episode of Ghost Adventures. The programme sees ghost hunters visit allegedly haunted spots to see for themselves whether or not there really is some paranormal activity taking place.
While most of the time these ghostly encounters might involve a sudden chill, or something going bump in the night, in this particular clip one of the ghost hunters, Billy Tolley, feels a “weird impulse” to have a couple of shots of whiskey.
He claimed to his fellow hunter: “Out of all the times we’ve been ghost hunting and stuff, I have never had an impulse – I want to drink that right now. I want another shot of this whiskey right now.”
“Feels good,” Billy sincerely explained to camera after giving in to the impulse, despite being warned that drinking more whiskey might result in him getting drink.
The footage, which on first viewing seems more like a parody than a documentary, has received more than 290,000 likes and almost 6,000 comments on TikTok at the time of writing, with some viewers wryly remarking that it must be a ghost that makes them want to drink alcohol at the weekends.
But not every case can be explained away so easily. From bottles flying off shelves to cursed fizz, here are 10 grisly drinks horror stories for Halloween.
