Police drive man to park to clear up his beer cans
A man in New Zealand who threw empty beer cans at a picnic area containing a family was driven by police back to the scene, and told to clear up his mess.
According to the New Zealand Herald, the incident happened in the Puddle Alley Reserve of the Mosgiel region of Dunedin in Otago.
The man had been drinking in the park on Saturday (16 September), and throwing his empty beer cans into a picnic area where there were families trying to eat an afternoon meal.
Police were called to the car park area of the Reserve at 4pm, following the reports of the man, according to senior sergeant Anthony Bond of the Dunedin police.
Although he had driven off from the park by the time the police arrived, they managed to find him at a nearby address and return him to the park.
When police caught the man they undertook a breathalyser test which showed he was more than double the legal limit for alcohol with a breath alcohol level of 600mcg.
The man was then driven back to the park where he was told to clean up the mess of beer cans that he had left behind in the picnic area, and also received a court summons for driving under the influence of alcohol.
