New Big Brother series rumoured to relax alcohol rules
Big Brother bosses could be gearing up to relax the drinking rules in the twentieth series of the reality show, according to reports.
The decision, which was disclosed by the national press this week, could see Big Brother differ from ITV2 reality show Love Island where contestants are limited to two drinks per evening.
Sources close to the show told The Mirror: “The booze used to flow in Big Brother, but obviously times have changed a lot since it was last on air. There are certainly going to be going to be stricter welfare measures in place than in previous iterations, but bosses are confident they won’t have to stick to the same rules as Love Islanders have to.”
The source explained: “There will be a much broader age range of the contestants, and less focus on them getting romantic with one another, so as long as their welfare is looked after they should be able to have a few boozy parties without any issues.”
They added: “Alcohol protocol is still being finalised, and will be closely monitored” showing that irrespective of any changes within the show, it is still extremely unlikely that anyone will be allowed to become overly-refreshed during the series.
The new series of Big Brother will be hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best and will hit British television screens from next month .
