The 4.5% ABV beer, which featured in the top 50 in the annual GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beers list, ranking fifth in 2008, is one of Little Creatures’ most popular beers, but has been left to memory for many beer fans.

Little Creatures was founded in Fremantle in Western Australia in 2000. Developing a reputation for its pale ale, it expanded its brewhouse in 2005 and was later acquired by Lion in 2012. In 2013, it opened a brewery in Geelong in the state of Victoria. Since then it has also opened sites in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.

Bright Ale is known for offering a “balanced’ and “refreshingly clean” taste that also has a subtle malt character and a fruity and spicy hop aroma.

Speaking about the beer’s revival, Ed Jamison, head of marketing – craft at Lion, said: “We are excited to bring back Little Creatures Bright Ale to fans this spring as a true favourite among craft beer enthusiasts nationwide.”

Jamison added: “Although Bright Ale will be returning for a limited time, we’re confident to receive a positive response from consumers on this crowd pleaser.”

Little Creatures Bright Ale will, according to local FMCG reports, retail for AU$19 for a four-pack of 375ml cans and AU$63 for a 16-pack in all LMG outlets, including: Bottlemart, SpinSave, Harry Brown, and Thirsty Camel stores. According to Lion, a draught version will also be available on tap at Little Creatures Fremantle and Geelong while supplies last.

Lion’s parent company Kirin Holdings, which as well as the Kirin Brewery Company and Kirin Beverage Company, also has a 55% stake in Myanmar Brewery Ltd, jointly owns San Miguel Brewery and has a 24.5% stake in Brooklyn Brewery.
