Delamain sees top team changes
Charles Braastad is set to take up a new position at Delamain ahead of the retirement of renowned cellar master Dominique Touteau in March 2024.
Braastad, who is currently managing director, is set to take a new position as cellar master – deputy managing director, taking on the role from 1 September 2023.
Until Touteau’s departure, he will work alongside Braastad on ageing and shaping the best eaux-de-vie from Grand Champagne, manage the estate of La Rambaudie in Bellevigne, and work in concert as house ambassadors for Delamain and guardians of the House’s approach and ethos to the crafting of old cognacs.
The news comes with the bicentenary celebration of starting in spring 2024, which will pay tribute to the work done by Dominique Touteau, since he was appointed Cellar Master in 1992, and to formalizse the handover with Braastad, who has worked with him for a quarter of a century.
With Braastad taking on his new role, Eric Le Bouar will now assume the position of managing director of Delamain from 1 September 2023. Currently head of M&A for Groupe Bollinger, where he led the acquisition of Hubert Brochard in Sancerre and Château d’Etroyes in Burgundy, Le Bouar has more than 10 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry in finance and strategy roles. Before joining Groupe Bollinger, he worked for industry leader Pernod Ricard, in France, in the US and in Latin America.
The leadership changes come as Etienne Bizot, Groupe Bollinger CEO and Gérard Bouleau, the deputy CEO, BOULEAU have set a clear ambition to accelerate the brand’s development in France and internationally.
