Expensive food and drink revealed in Kim Jong-Un’s diet

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un indulges in high cost food and drink despite North Korea battling a food crisis, according to reports.

The news, cited by India Today referencing a report from a UK defence expert speaking to British press, stated that there is no limit to how much the is willing to spend when indulging in his taste for the finer things in life — including high end spirits, expensive cigarettes and imported meat.

According to the reports, Kim Jong-Un is an “inveterate boozer” who is known for his penchant for Scotch whisky, and Hennessy Cognac and spends around US$30 million a year importing high-quality spirits into the nation, as per trade data made public by the Chinese General Administration of Customs.

In addition to high end spirits, the dictator has been said to enjoy gourmet food such as Parma ham and is unwilling to scale back his expensive tastes or adapt despite the rest of the country’s food and supply chain challenges pushing costs up.

The North Korea leader is reportedly in the throws of a “midlife crisis”, and is imbibing fine wine and spirits liberally with Bordeaux wine and Swiss cheese being particular favourites consumed in great quantities.

Further reports into the dictator’s diet also uncovered how Kim Jong-Un and his father would dine together on Kobe steaks (the most expensive and sought-after beef in the world) and Cristal Champagne, leading to suggestions that he rarely considered austerity or the cost of food and drink during his upbringing.

In contrast to this, in the past, when the North Korean autocrat was in his youth it was reported how he also had a soft spot for junk food which, in 1997 led to an Italian chef being hired to make pizza exclusively for the family to appease his appetite.

Reports also indicated that Jong-Un indulges in a highly expensive type of Brazilian coffee which he reportedly spent about US$967,051 in just one year along with Yves Saint Laurent cigarettes.

Over the past decade, it was revealed that Jong-Un regularly consumed copious amounts of snake wine to increase his potency in an effort to assist in getting his wife pregnant.

Recent reports have alleged that his diet is out of control and since he indulges in heavy drinking and smoking sessions, his health has suffered and his consumption patterns have contributed to his weight surpassing 300 pounds (136 kg).
