Adnams and Deya launch collaboration beer named Boat Trip
Southwold-based Adnams Brewery has collaborated with Cheltenham’s Deya Brewing Company to create a new beer named Boat Trip.
The 4% ABV pale ale, which will be available on cask, in keg and also in 440ml cans; will be pale gold in colour and lead with “refreshing” flavours of elderflower, peaches, limes and orange, according to the brewers.
the beer recipe itself uses pale ale malt and oats in the brew along with Simcoe, Citra and Mystic hops to give juicy orange and lime flavours to the beer.
Speaking about the collaboration, Adnams productuon director Fergus Fitzgerald said: “Rumour has it that late in life, while living in South Africa, one of Adnams foundin brothers, George Adnams, came across a crocodile. The details of what happened will never become clear, but the story became legend.”
He explained: Although it didn’t have a happy ending, we have reimagined the encounter in the spirit of friendship, as Adnams’ George and Deya’s Domingo set off on an adventurous boat trip together.
The new beer Boat Trip is set to be available across Adnams’ pub estate as well as in pubs, bars, taprooms and good beer retailers to take advantage of the summer months and give beer lovers something to enjoy with friends in the sunshine.
