Moët Hennessy opens Paris cocktail bar

Moët Hennessy has announced the opening of Cravan – a luxury cocktail bar in the heart of the French capital’s Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood.

Belgian designer Ramy Fischler has reimagined this typical Parisian building, dating back to the 17th century, over five floors.

In addition to the structure now housing an impressive three cocktail bars, there is also a Rizzoli Bookstore within its walls (curated by Cravan). The top floor is no less intriguing, with a by-invitation-only private atelier and, perched on the building’s rooftop, a small Parisian kiosk that will be screening films on summer nights.

Moët Hennessy, the wine and spirits section of LVMH, has provided the drinks, which will be mixed under the expert eye of restaurateur, cocktail expert and author Franck Audoux, who is serving as Cravan’s artistic director.

Audoux founded the original Cravan site on Rue Jean de la Fontaine. It takes its name from Dadaist poet, and boxer, Arthur Cravan.

Philippe Schaus, chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy, said: “It is with great pride that we open the doors of Cravan, bringing to life Moët Hennessy’s mission: crafting experiences. I am delighted to start welcoming our guests at the heart of historical literary neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, inviting them to step into the unique and singular universe of Cravan.”

“Celebrating epicureanism through a sustainable, lasting and inspired approach of hospitality, Cravan is a strategic milestone in Moët Hennessy’s ambition to lead the future of luxury wines and spirits,” added Schaus.

Next year it might not just be cocktails getting mixed around in Paris – the leadership of LVMH may also be decided there, with the city hosting the 2024 Olympics.
