ASC Fine Wines celebrates World Environment Day with wine carnival
Chinese fine wine importer and distributor ASC Fine Wines celebrated the 50th World Environment Day on Monday by partnering with a selection of wineries on a nature-themed wine carnival.
ASC Fine Wines is a member of Suntory Group, and continues to work on sustainable initiatives in line with the group’s overarching corporate policy ‘to inspire the brilliance of life, by creating rich experiences for people, in harmony with nature’.
In preparation for the 50th World Environment Day, ASC joined forces with select winery partners to partake in a nature-themed wine carnival organised by Sommelier Press, a wine media outlet in China.
During the event, the importer and distributor showcased a curated selection of wines produced using biodynamic methods or sustainable approaches, with the aim of allowing wine enthusiasts to “experience firsthand ASC’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship”, the company has said.
ASC Fine Wines also partners with wineries which are devoted to replacing heavy and difficult-to-recycle bottles with lightweight alternatives, highlighting its dedication to sustainable packaging practices.
The company is also continuing to undertake a continuous sustainable initiative by supporting the Mizuiku programme — an educational scheme for primary school students, spearheaded by the Suntory Group.
Over the years, the multinational project has made a positive impact on countries including Japan, Thailand, France, Britain, Vietnam, Indonesia and Spain. Since its inception in China in 2021, the Mizuiku project has taken root in Shanghai and Beijing, impacting over 27,000 students across 79 schools. Through collaborative efforts between the Suntory Group and ASC, the programme in China aims to educate young people on the significance of water conservation and fosters a deep-rooted environmental consciousness.
