This week in the world of drinks, X Muse vodka held a takeover event at the The Audley in Mayfair, we headed to Eve Bar to sample some of the wonders of Adam Handling’s new cocktail menu, and Aix Rosé celebrated the launch of its 2022 vintage.
X Muse vodka, which is linked to Jupiter Artland Sculpture Park, Edinburgh, announced an ongoing collaboration with leading chef Carlo Scotto during a takeover event upstairs at the art-rich The Audley, Mayfair. Scotto, of Amethyst restaurant located one mile away, which honours Scotto’s birthstone in name and in terms of the bolt of crystals running through the large table like lightening, and X Muse, which contains water drawn from an ancient Scottish aquifer, rested on amethyst crystals, found serendipity in the friendship, which will see the Scottish heritage grains vodka included in signature serves at Scotto’s chef’s table restaurant. “I was hooked,” said Scotto, upon discovering the surprisingly richly flavoured vodka.
We headed to Covent Garden for the launch of Eve Bar’s new menu ‘Technique’. Created in Eve’s cocktail lab, Technique showcases Carbonation, Clarification, Distillation, Fermentation and Freezing. Each technique is demonstrated, with a touch of theatre, through three signature cocktails, illustrating the myriad ways in which they can transform a drink. The menu celebrates the bar’s zero waste ethos and its synergy with the Michelin-starred Frog by Adam Handling, with each cocktail giving new life to a leftover ingredient from the kitchen upstairs.
AIX Rosé is celebrating the launch of its 2022 vintage with the help of five-star Sofitel Legend The Grand in Amsterdam, offering a special arrangement in its intimate courtyard at Oriole Garden Bistro. The arrangement consists of various bites served with AIX Rosé to celebrate the launch of the 2022 vintage.
For those looking to try their hand at a culinary adventure, Executive Chef Raoul Meuwese shares his recipe for ‘Zeeuwse’ oysters with jerusalem artichoke and sea buckthorn. This dish boasts a perfect blend of rich, savory flavors with a hint of tartness from the sea buckthorn oil, making it a great pairing for rosé wines. Perfect for anyone looking to impress their guests with a taste of Amsterdam’s finest cuisine.
Cà Maiol – the historic estate at Desenzano del Garda, in the heart of the Lugana zone – officially presented its new brand image at an event held at the Cà Maiol winery during Vinitaly. Its goal is to highlight the uniqueness of its house style and establishing itself as an icon for Lugana and Valtènesi Chiaretto, because it is a custodian of the genius loci of this terroir, and one of the protagonists in the history of both denominations as well as of their future. The restyling of the logo and of the packaging takes as its cue the keystone – the fundamental architectural feature of a building, which stands at the summit of an arch and “locks” the other stones together – and transforms it into a distinctive trademark.
Brun de Vian-Tiran managing director Jean-Louis Brun was presented with the Primum Familiae Vini (PFV) ‘Family is Sustainability’ Prize in a ceremony in Domaine du Clos des Tourelles. The family-run Provençal wool mill was selected due to its “family values, innovation, and creativity,” in the words of PFV chairman Matthieu Perrin (pictured second from the left).
