Stone Brewing shows ‘solidarity’ with Ukrainian collaboration
California’s Stone Brewing has collaborated with MOVA Brewing Co in Dnipro, Ukraine to release Side By Side IPA.
The collaboration, which Stone Brewery has indicated is “a statement of solidarity” is also set to be in support of the brewer’s distribution partners in Kiev.
The 6% ABV IPA brew will be brewed at Stone Brewing in Escondido, California and is set to be available on draught across the US and throughout the world.
Back in 2022, when the war on Ukraine broke out, Stone Brewing’s international sales team rallied their personal and professional networks to help Ukrainian refugees.
As part of the move, they delivered food and critical supplies to the Ukrainian border and found homes for refugees, who they had bussed back to Berlin with them.
During this time, the team learned that its partners at Wine Bureau in Kiev were among the businesses destroyed by bombings, which is when they first connected with MOVA to offer solidarity.
Stone Brewing’s director of international markets Sascha Brand said: “Stone Brewing is proud to serve MOVA / Stone Side By Side IPA across the world in a show of solidarity and to raise funds to help our friends at Wine Bureau rebuild.”
Brand added: “Even though divided thousands of miles apart, Stone stands with the people of Ukraine in spirit – side by side.”
The new beer’s artwork is designed by Ukrainian artist Dartsya Zironka, whose team are now active members of the Ukrainian army.
The proceeds of the beer will go towards helping those affected by the war on Ukraine.
