The two new serves were handcrafted with Tequila and Mezcal enthusiasts in mind, Patrón has said in a press release. They have been distilled using 100% Weber Blue Agave and an innovative production process.

Patrón Ahumado Silver and Reposado are made from agave piñas roasted in small batches with mesquite charcoal for seven days in underground stone pits at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico. They are then crushed through a 100% tahona wheel distillation process.

The Bacardi-owned company has said that the new serves will enable consumers to elevate classic cocktails like the Margarita and the Old Fashioned with their smoky flavour.

Patrón Ahumado Silver is said to have a natural sweetness balanced with notes of spices, black pepper and cooked agave. Patrón Ahumado Reposado is smooth, sweet, smoky and woody with notes of black pepper and hints of vanilla and caramel.

Suggested serves for the two new expressions include a Margarita, Negroni or Spicy Ahumado Mule for the Patrón Ahumado Silver. Patrón Ahumado Reposado should be served neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail like a Paloma or Old Fashioned.
