Jenson Button partners with Rolls-Royce on exclusive Coachbuilt release
Jenson Button has partnered with Rolls-Royce to release an exclusive expression for the Formula 1 driver’s Coachbuilt Whisky brand, with just 300 bottles available.
Rolls-Royce London and Coachbuilt Whisky have announced an exclusive, limited-release whisky. There will be just 300 bottles released with half of those offered to Rolls-Royce London customers and then rest available to purchase though a winners ballot. The spirit was unveiled on Wednesday 19th April in London.
Coachbuilt Whisky was launched last year by whisky expert George Koutsakis and Formula 1 racing star and former World Champion Jenson Button. The limited-release follows Coachbuilt’s debut Original Blend.
Bottles are priced at £1,500 and are presented in co-branded engraved boxes, crafted by a small producer in the Scottish Highlands complete with an embossed leather coat. Half of those produced will be available to Rolls-Royce London Customers. For others wanting to purchase the additional 150 bottles available, there is ballot system, with winners selected and announced in mid-June of this year.
The limited-release whisky has been aged for a minimum of 30 years is combined with whiskies that have aged up to 35 years, primarily in sherry casks, bringing flavours of coffee, hints of toffee and caramel, and candied nuts and fruit, accentuated from additional maturation in ex-bourbon barrels. The blend offers sweetness, depth and spice, the brand has said.
Partnering with Rolls-Royce, Coachbuilt founder Jenson Button aimed to create a whisky worthy of the heritage, craftsmanship and legacy that surrounds the iconic British brand, offering special a product to both automotive and whisky enthusiasts alike, according to a press release.
Jenson Button, Coachbuilt co-founder said: “It’s really quite incredible to think we are only just celebrating Coachbuilt’s first birthday, and to see how far we have come in that time.”
Speaking on the launch, Coachbuilt co-founder George Koutsakis said: “When we started Coachbuilt a year ago, the goal was always to work with luxury car brands on special releases, and draw the parallels between the two worlds of blended whisky and expertly-built cars.”
