Argentine winery strikes sponsorship deal with Bath Rugby Club
Viñalba, which makes wines from Mendoza and Patagonia, has signed a two-year deal to become the first official wine partner of Bath Rugby Club.
As part of an initial two-year sponsorship, starting from July 2023, visitors to the home of Bath rugby will be able to drink Viñalba wines on match days.
Viñalba will also feature at the back of all first team playing shirts during home and away games, as well as on advertising boards surrounding the rugby pitch and in official match day programmes.
“As our first ever high profile partnership for Viñalba, I couldn’t be more pleased for us to become the first ever official wine partner of Bath Rugby,” said Craig Durham, managing director of Viñalba’s UK importer Buckingham Schenk. “The synergies between Viñalba and Bath Rugby are plain to see and I cannot wait to start working with them for the 2023/2024 season onward.”
Viñalba’s owner and head winemaker Herve Joyaux Fabre added: “We’re delighted to become the first official wine partner of such an iconic club as Bath Rugby. Their heritage, dedicated fan base, love for their supporters and their plans for the future completely align with what we are trying to achieve with Viñalba.”
Produced by Bodegas Fabre, Viñalba is now sold in eight countries worldwide and is the sixth largest Argentinian wine exporter to the UK with more than one million bottles sold in the UK last year via retailers including Majestic, Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose.
