The winery, which is part of ultra-premium wine group Tenute del Mondo, has launched three Malbec-based wines as part of the 2019 vintage of the Fincas collection.

Achaval Ferrer Finca Bella Vista 2019 has been sourced from a 113-year-old vineyard. The wine, of which just 6710 bottles are available, is elegant due to a favourable climate for the typical expression of Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo.

All three wines, which have been launched globally on 3 April, have a limited availability. Just 4220 bottles of the 2019 Achaval Ferrer Finca Mirador have been produced, alongside 9468 bottles of the 2019 Achaval Ferrer Finca Altamira.

Achaval Ferrer Finca Mirador 2019 has been sourced from 102-year-old vineyard. In 2019, it showcases the finest and most delightful expression of this eastern vineyard, the producer said in a press release published this morning.

Achaval Ferrer Finca Altamira 2019, sourced from a 73-year-old vineyard, is said to be among the best years for Finca Altamira.

The 2019 harvest was said to be a great one for Achaval Ferrer and Mendoza in general. The producer has compared 2019 to that of 2011, with medium warmth and humidity, and rainfall close to 150-180mm. High temperatures during the day and cool nights allowed the stomata of the canopy to rest for long periods of the day, granting homogeneous growth in the bunches and good concentration.

Available globally from 3 April 2023, the wines are priced as follows, and available in all nine Jeroboams shops, online and to the on-trade and specialist retail trade from 2 May:

2019 Achaval Ferrer Finca Mirador – £98
2019 Achaval Ferrer Finca Bella Vista – £98
2019 Achaval Ferrer Finca Altamira – £105
