Della Vite secures £3 million funding to expand Prosecco brand

The Prosecco brand founded by the Delevingne sisters has closed a £3 million funding round to accelerate its growth in the UK, US and Europe.

Miguel and Laura Riascos, founders of La Hechicera craft rum, are joining the Della Vite board, following their spearheading of a successful investment round for the Prosecco brand, which will enable its expansion across key markets.

Expansion into the US began in September 2021, just a year after the sisters launched the brand, with a presence in California, New York, and Florida. And Della Vite made its first transition into EU markets this year at the end of 2021, launching first in Sweden.

“When considering expansion into a new market, our key reference points are always the category opportunity, cultural trends and our digital metrics for that particular market,” said Clara Latham, general manager at Della Vite, at the time.

Now, the Prosecco brand is embarking on an amplified expansion blueprint across both the US and EU markets, as well as in the UK, where it first launched.

“This is the best possible development at a pivotal moment on our journey,” said Numa Heathcote, Della Vite co-founder and CEO, on the addition of the La Hechicera members to its team.

“We have strengthened our balance sheet, we’re incredibly excited to add Miguel and Laura’s expertise to that of our team, and this puts us in the strongest possible position to accelerate our growth in all markets.”

The La Hechicera team brings a wealth of knowledge from the premium drinks industry with La Hechicera one of the most high-end rums available.

“We’re very excited to join this incredible brand and team,’ said Miguel and Laura. “There’s just so much potential in the category to explore globally.”

Sisters Poppy, Cara and Chloe Delevingne said that welcoming Laura and Miguel to the family “would take Della Vite to the next level”.

The brand has gone from strength to strength since its launch in December 2020, securing 250 independent listings in the UK as well as a place on Sainsbury’s shelves and with online retailer Ocado.
