Hellmann’s releases ‘Mayo-Nog’ cocktail for Christmas
It’s Eggnog, but not as we know it. Condiment producer Hellmann’s has teamed up with hospitality experience company Muddling Memories to create the most controversial cocktail of the holiday season…
Eggnog already sparks passionate debate among cocktail fans, with some hailing at is Christmas in a glass and others wondering why on Earth anyone would consider it drinkable.
And Hellmann’s has decided to wade into this already heady mix with its own jam on the eggnog: Mayo-Nog.
As the name suggests, eggs are replaced by Hellmann’s mayo in this expression, created by Muddling Memories mixologist Cody Goldstein.
You can taste the creative creation at New York City restaurant Amy Fontaine’s, though if you don’t happen to reside in the big apple, Goldstein and Hellmann’s have provided a recipe so you can mix it up at home.
Here’s the recipe for the Hellmann’s Mayo-Nog:
Frozen Mayo-Nog (makes 2 servings)
- 1/4 cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
- 3 ounces whole milk
- 3 ounces heavy cream
- 3 ounces simple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1½ ounces rum (preferably Ron Zacapa)
- 1½ ounces apple brandy (preferably Laird’s)
- 1½ ounces cognac (preferably Grand Marnier)
- 1 cup ice
Add all ingredients into a blender with ice and blend until smooth. Garnish with a dusting of cinnamon.
Those lucky (?) enough to try the original concoction at Amy Fontaine’s this holiday season will also be treated to a snickerdoodle cookie pairing, complete with a sweet mayo glaze. Yum.
