Champagne brand updates
Ahead of a sparkling Christmas, db looks at what some of the top Champagne brands have planned.
Champagne Gosset
Following the release of Gosset Celebris Rosé 2008, Champagne house Gosset has launched, for the first time, a vintage Gosset Celebris Blanc de Blancs, from the 2012 harvest. A spokesperson for Gosset said: “Beyond simply being ‘cuvées de prestige’, the Gosset Celebris cuvées aim to be ‘cuvées d’exception’.
Moet Hennessy/Dom Pérignon
Dom Pérignon and Lady Gaga have unveiled a limited-edition design for the Champagne maison’s Rosé Vintage 2008. The Moet Hennessyowned brand first worked with the pop star-turned-actor on packaging for the Rosé Vintage 2006, rekindling the partnership this year to put the 2008 vintage, an exceptional year for Champagne, in the spotlight. The collaboration was unveiled in 2021, but brought to market in early 2022, retailing on Clos19 for £330. The house is calling the release “the story of two creative forces”.
Champagne Palmer
This year, Champagne Palmer & Co unveiled its Grands Terroirs 2015 and Grands Terroirs 2012, putting the Montagne de Reims in the spotlight. A historic signature of the maison, each Grands Terroirs cuvée is an expression of the Montagne de Reims Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in an exceptional vintage. The first Grands Terroirs cuvée from the 2003 vintage was revealed to the market four years ago, and now the 2015 vintage has launched in bottle and 2012 vintage in magnum.
Vranken Pommery
Pommery Champagne has launched its latest World Collection, complete with a new vintage release. Named Mandala, and inspired by Tibetan Buddhist traditions, the new giftbox collection includes the maison’s Pommery Brut Royal, Pommery Rosé Royal, Pommery Apanage Brut, and Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs, all available in packaging that reflects the colourful mandalas of Tibet. The collection also features the Champagne House’s latest release – the Grand Cru Royal Millesime 2009 – crafted from seven of Pommery’s iconic Grand Crus.
