Paul Jones, Wine Director at Vivino told db, “The label scans, ratings and reviews shared by our community of wine drinkers has highlighted some really interesting trends, plus one or two surprises. For a top 10 list, it’s great to see so many countries represented and gives people a great selection to choose from this Christmas. Wines from seven different countries, across 10 wines, demonstrates that value and quality can be found across the world and not just in the traditional regions you might initially think of.
“It’s also interesting to see such a range of pricing amongst the most popular wines which shows that UK wine drinkers aren’t solely interested in the cheapest wines available. People are interested in quality first, price second.
“Finally, it’s fantastic to see a US wine feature on the list as they tend to be more on the expensive side. This bourbon-barrel aged Zinfandel from 1000 Stories is a prime example of the growing interest in the UK for this kind of wine.”
