Barefoot Pinot Grigio becomes UK’s biggest selling still white wine
E. & J. Gallo-owned Barefoot Wines has announced that its Pinot Grigio has become the UK’s best-selling white wine brand in the off-trade.
Definitely one of the most instantly recognisable wine brands on the UK supermarket shelves, E. & J. Gallo-owned Barefoot Wines’ Pinot Grigio has cemented its place as the UK’s number one still wine by bottles sold, according to data from IRI.
“Barefoot Pinot Grigio continues to go from strength to strength in the UK, and we are delighted to be the UK consumers’ favourite white wine”, commented Mark Stammers, Sales Director UK & Ireland at E. & J. Gallo Winery.
“Barefoot wines are fun, flavourful and innovative, with a range of different formats that make them suitable for a number of occasions, and a brand that resonates with consumers of all ages.”
Per a press release, the California-based wine brand also boasts the nation’s most popular rosé, with its Barefoot White Zinfandel.
This summer, it was announced that Barefoot’s parent company, E. & J. Gallo, which also counts Clos du Bois among its portfolio, had become the official wine sponsor of the National Football League (NFL).
Gallo and the NFL announced a multi-year agreement, which makes the winery the official wine sponsor of the NFL. Barefoot, arguably Gallo’s best known brand, was the first brand to be used in the partnership.
