Henkell Freixenet unveils new fizz and ponders everyone’s NYE drink
Henkell Freixenet Global is showcasing its Mionetto Rosé Prosecco and a new organic cava at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes.
Speaking to the drinks business, Henkell Freixenet Global’s senior vice president Sandra Janetzki said: “Our news is from Mionetto and we have launched some GTR exclusives too, as people can see” pointing out the new fizz range.
Janetzki revealed: “Some things are completely new here and some are GTR exclusives, but these sparkling wines will be launching in April 2023″ she said gesturing to the Mionetto Rose Prosecco, and added that it is going to “have a shelf price of £13.90”.
“Some of our bottles are already in Heinemann stores,” she added.
Responding to her thoughts of the fizz category and whether Champagne was still popular, or if the fizz market had experienced any volatility, Janetzki said: “For our category and for our products, our entire industry is wondering: ‘What will we drink on New Year’s Eve?’ ‘What will we drink at Christmas?’ ‘Will it be another form of premiumisation or downtrading?’”
Janetzki explained that bubbly was still likely to ride through the recession and added: “I think there is now a lot of competition on the market and lots of price increases” reiterating how “everybody has to increase their prices in order to continue a healthy business – you just have to do it.”
