Bike to Care charitable cycling challenge to take place in Bordeaux
Following an inaugural charitable cycling challenge in Burgundy last May to raise funds for the restaurant sector, Bike to Care is back in 2023, but this time it will take place in Bordeaux.
Next year’s event will run over two days from 8-9 May and cover 200km through the vineyards and countryside of Médoc, Graves and Sauternes with the aim, once again, to fundraise for those working in hospitality.
During the first Bike to Car in Burgundy, €250,000 was raised for charities around the world, such as Hospitality Action in the UK and Femmes de Vin in Canada, an achievement the second edition of this charitable initiative hopes to repeat.
Among the teams in this year’s event, which was spearheaded by Pierre-Henry Gagey of Maison Louis Jadot, was one from Bordeaux – comprising Véronique Sanders from Haut-Bailly, Alexander van Beek from Giscours, Jean-Charles Cazes from Lynch Bages – who have taken up the baton of organising 2023’s ride.
Like the first edition, next year’s challenge in Bordeaux will feature teams of riders from around the world, each consisting of 8-10 participants, who will be tasked with raising funds for a range of charities connected to the restaurant sector.
