Aldi wine advent calendar unveiled for 2022

Yes, with *JUST 94 DAYS TO GO* until Christmas, it’s time for that annual tradition of muttering “world’s gone mad” under your breath as the first anaemic tufts of tinsel rustle despondently in the damp grey mornings as you commute, head bowed against the elements, trouser legs clinging to your shins due to the cursed rain.

All of which is to say: brands have started advertising advent calendars. Which means it won’t be long before brands start launching Christmas-themed products so obtusely conceived that you’ll be left wondering if you’re not in some parallel universe where it’s Christmas 365 days a year, everyone likes ‘Kevin the Carrot’ for some reason, and no-one has an allergic reaction to tinsel.

Anyway.

Aldi has unveiled its wine advent calendar for 2022, which, to be fair, is always worth celebrating.

This year’s Aldi wine advent calendar priced at £59.99, which keen-eyed Aldi aficionados will know is £10 more than last year’s prices – symptomatic of rising costs across the alc bev sector.

The 24 miniature (up to 20cl) bottles span white, red and rosé expressions, and the advent calendar will be available to purchase from Aldi from 30 October, a much more sensible time of the year to be discussing Christmas.

Here’s what’s inside the Aldi wine advent calendar in 2022:

  • JP. Chanet Original Brut x3 – 20cl
  • JP. Chanet Original Dry Rose x3 – 20cl
  • Brut d’Argent Chardonnay x3 – 20cl
  • Calvert Reserve Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon x -18.7cl
  • JP. Chanet Original Cabernet Syrah x2 – 18.7cl
  • Calvert Limited Release Merlot x1 – 18.7cl
  • Calvert Syrah x1 – 18.7cl
  • JP. Chanet Original Grenache Cinsault x4 – 18.7cl
  • Just Sauvignon Blanc x3 – 18.7cl
  • Just Pinot Grigio x3 – 18.7cl

It has also been reported that Aldi will be launching a hard seltzer advent calendar this year, as well as the return of its cheese advent calendar (which if you were feeling frisky, you could pair with the wines for some festive indulgence).

Happy it’s 94 days to Christmas… day.
