Château Galoupet releases organic rosé in Hong Kong
Moët Hennessy will launch Château Galoupet Rosé Cru Classé 2021, the first pink wine since the organic conversion of its vineyards, in Hong Kong.
Château Galoupet, which was acquired by Moët Hennessy in May 2019, is set to release its Cru Classé Rosé 2021; the first rosé wine to be released since the organic conversion of the winery following three years of examining its soils, nurturing the vineyards, and reviving the biodiversity on the estate.
The pink wine is presented in a 70% recycled amber glass bottle, weighing 499g. Crafted from 100% owned grapes, Château Galoupet Cru Classé 2021 is a blend of Grenache, Rolle, Syrah and Tibouren.
Galoupet is one of 18 Cru Classé estates in Provence, boasting a unique ecosystem spanning 77 hectares of protected woodland and 69 hectares of vineyards.
Since August 2020, the vineyard of Château Galoupet has been in organic conversion and will be fully certified by 2023.
Situated on the French Riviera, within the Côtes de Provence appellation, the estate is cradled between the Maures mountain range, neighbouring protected salt marshes, and overlooking the islands of Porquerolles, Port Cros and Le Levant.
Regarding its Cru Classé status, Château Galoupet benefits from owning 100% of its grapes, which allows for complete viticulture management and transparency of sustainable practices at every step of the blend.
The winery has been actively working to preserve the biodiversity on its property through working with CEN PACA (Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels ProvenceAlpes-Côte d’Azur) and OFA (Observatoire Francais d’Apidologie).
To ensure the evolution of the estate and to support the region in its progression towards sustainable viticulture, Château Galoupet has dedicated 3.5 hectares of its vineyards specifically to research and development.
Château Galoupet Cru Classé 2021 is now available in Hong Kong with a suggested retail price at HK$519.
