UK pubs are offering free pints to people with these surnames

The women’s European Championships kicked off last week, with record numbers of supporters tuning in to the matches.

According to a report, over 250 million viewers from 195 territories are expected to tune into live broadcasts of the football tournament.

And new viewing records have already been obliterated, with 68,781 watched England edge past Austria in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 opener.

To celebrate the momentous occasion and give football fans a chance to celebrate with a refreshing pint, Greene King pubs are giving away free drinks to customers who share a surname with any member of the England squad.

The offer is only in place during the matches, which are being screened by the pub group at 810 of its locations.

Chris Conchie, head of marketing for Greene King sport, hopes the promotion will generate support for women’s football and our national players.

He said: “Despite the fact that the Women’s Euros tournament grows in popularity each year, there is still a massive lack of awareness and support for the individuals who make up our incredible team.

“This limited time offer isn’t just about a free drink, it’s a chance to show support right across the UK for our Lionesses and champion the incredible UK talent on display on the world stage.”
