Brand Finance, a brand valuation consultancy firm, has compiled a list of the 50 most valuable beer brands in world for 2022, using its own methodology. Rather than simply ranking brewers by overall revenue, Brand Finance says it has measured “the net economic benefit that a brand owner would achieve by licensing the brand in the open market.”

Of course, big names dominate the top 10, but there are a few surprises along the way as well.

Corona was ranked as the number one most valuable beer brand in the world in 2022. The report notes that the brand took a hit in value during the coronavirus pandemic, attributing some of its problems due to reported correlations consumers were making between the brand’s name and the virus.

Heineken is an extremely close second on the list, with brand value attributed to its sustainability commitments. The brewer also launched Heineken Silver, positioned as a premium, extra refreshing beer.
