Sud de France Top 100 tasting moves to 7 July
Due to train strikes, this year’s Sud de France Top 100 tasting in London has been postponed and divided into two events, with the first taking place on 7 July.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Sud de France top 100 competition. Over 263,000 hectares of this innovative and impressive region are under vine. The Top 100 reflects both the quality and diversity of Occitanie wines, from boutique producers to large cooperatives.
The first of the 2022 events, held on Thursday 7 July from 10.30am-5pm at One Great George Street (London SW1P 3AA), offers an early tasting of the wines. All 100 winning wines will be available for the attended press and buyers to sample.
The wines, blind tasted and selected by a panel of experts including Tim Atkin MW, are a mix of widely distributed wines as well as newcomers to the UK market. Indeed, 60% of the wines this year are looking for distribution.
Later in the year, the second event will take place on Tuesday 18 October from 10.30am-5pm at the The View in The Royal College of Surgeons (London WC2A 3PE).
All 100 winning wines will be available to taste in addition to extra choice wines presented by the visiting producers, who will also be available to answer questions concerning the 2022 harvest. Among the 16 producers visiting are names such as Plaimont and Domaine Florence Alquier.
