The Uncommon launches range of canned wine spritzers
The Uncommon is tapping into the demand for lower-alcohol options and RTDs with its latest release; a set of botanically flavoured canned wine spritzers.
The Uncommon’s English White and Rosé Wine Spritzers were launched today in multipacks (4 x 250ml cans) exclusively to Selfridges.
The canned wine spritzers have an ABV of 5.5% and contain just 83 calories per can.
They are made using a blend of The Uncommon’s white and rosé wines with sparkling water and natural botanical extracts.
The brand aims to corner the market on a high-quality alternative to hard seltzers on the market.
The Uncommon is a UK wine brand founded in 2018 by Henry Connell and Alex Thraves, who conceived of the brand after witnessing the boom in canned wine in the US and the rising popularity of English sparkling wine.
Henry Connell, co-founder of The Uncommon said: “Since starting The Uncommon in 2018, we’ve been looking for ways to break new ground without compromising on quality. The new spritzer recipe has been refined and perfected to serve those occasions where you might prefer a lighter option over a full-strength wine.
“We’ve landed on the perfect blend of botanicals that celebrate the character of our high-quality and aromatic wines, rather than masking them.
“And with England now widely regarded as one of the most exciting sparkling wine regions in the world, there’s never been a better time to enjoy locally grown and sustainably made spritzers. The very finest, all the way from just down the road.”
Earlier this year The Uncommon became the first UK winemaker to achieve B Corp certification.
The Uncommon has been certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit. Read more on the brand’s certification here.
