Take an epic journey across two of Australia’s iconic winemaking regions from your own home

Next month, Wine Australia is running two virtual sessions on their CONNECT platform that will guide participants through the wines of Margaret River and Hunter Valley from the comfort of their own home.

Australian Wine CONNECT is an always-on digital platform that is fast becoming the go-to resource for Australian wines, featuring more than 3,000 wines from 400 wineries.

In June, the platform plays host to two virtual sessions that are available to the trade to either watch live or via recording.

The first sees Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon being explored by Glenn Goodall (Xanadu Wines), Bart Molony (Vasse Felix) and Alex Miller (Voyager Estate), who will explain why the variety flourishes in the region. The winemakers will also discuss sustainable practices and biodiversity, and why the ‘light touch’ approach to viticulture and winemaking is so appealing.

Next, members of the trade will have the opportunity to virtually join legendary winemakers Bruce Tyrrell (Tyrrell’s), Stuart Hordern (Brokenwood Wines) and Andrew Margan (Margan Wines), who will discuss the Hunter Valley’s Semillon, Shiraz and alternative varieties. As well as finding out about the region’s most iconic wines, attendees will discover how producers are experimenting with innovative new styles.
