Guala to showcase its new luxury range at PLD Paris

Guala Closures is set to exhibit at the PLD Paris for the first time next month, when it presents ‘Carat’, the latest addition to its Luxury Closures Artisan collection.

The new premium range of closures uses premium materials such as Zamak (an innovative zinc aluminium alloy that achieve high levels of performance with an unmistakable visual impact), ceramic, and glass.

“Elegance, quality and style are the soul of Carat,” the company said.

The Carat range will be on show  at PLD Paris (29-30 June) along with the full Luxury Closures Artisan collection, a premium range of closures designed to give a distinctive character to customers’ brands and to improve the aesthetical appeal of their high-end products.

The Group is working to extend its luxury solutions by combining both sustainable and premium elements, thanks to the 100% recycled ABS plastic and beautifully refined wood customizations. The Gravitas sustainable version, with a combination of weight 2 along with 100% recycled fillers, is used mainly for the spirits segment and makes for a truly luxurious sustainable closure.

In terms of sustainable packaging, Guala Closures will present its full range of sustainable closures, called Blossom. The comprehensive range includes closures for spirits, wine, water and beverages, all of which meet at least one of the 4 design-to models within the Group’s eco-design guidelines: design to revive, design to change, design to reduce, design to fade.

Thanks to the agreement with Oceanworks, a global sourcing engine for responsible plastic, Guala Closures is using the recycled material to follow the “Design to Change” model. Oceanworks materials are certified recycled polymers coming from the collection of ocean-bound materials. To meet the “Design to Reduce” model (to reduce the amount of resources and materials needed to produce closures), Bio agave closures are available for the spirits market. With combinations of materials produced with materials obtained from leftover vegetable or from wood waste, these are available in two types of closures: an anticounterfeiting model or t-bar model.

All Guala Closures ranges are fully customized to meet customer’ needs, in terms of materials, decorations and also the offer of type of corks (natural, agglomerated or synthetic) to create a complete and refined packaging.

The Group has one of the widest ranges of luxury closures in the industry due to its research centres’ specializations, including wood in Mexico, Ukraine and Bulgaria; Gravitas (a patented weighted plastic) in UK and Zamak (premium zinc alloy) in Bulgaria; and ceramics and resins in Ukraine..

As well as its recognized strength in creative solutions, Guala Closures has a reputation for its bespoke designs, working closely with clients and their creative agencies. Drinks manufacturers have very ambitious goals in terms environmental impact and Guala Closures’ strong sustainability policy allows it to propose more sustainable alternative materials and designs that meet these needs. For the Group, this is an opportunity to show and offer its different product lines ranges: the most prestigious closures for the luxury market, alcohol safety and aluminium closures, which offer protection and convenience to consumers while enhancing customers’ brands.

The 2022 edition of PLD Paris is being held on 29 & 30 June 2022 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, as part of Paris Packaging Week.
