Delevingne sisters launch new Prosecco Rosé

Della Vite, the Prosecco brand co-created by Chloe, Poppy and Cara Delevingne, has launched its first Prosecco Rosé onto the UK market.

Cara Delevingne launches new Prosecco Rosé

Cara Delevingne and her two sisters first launched Della Vite in 2020, with two offerings: a Prosecco Superiore DOCG and a Treviso Prosecco DOC.

The latest addition, Della Vite Prosecco D.O.C. Rosé Millesimato 2021, is the brand’s first vintage Prosecco.

Della Vite’s first Prosecco Rosé is an extra-dry blend composed of 11% Pinot Nero.

In line with the other cuvées in the range, the blend is fermented for 90 days using a homemade strain of yeast unique to Della Vite.

The production of D.O.C. Prosecco Rosé was only approved by the region’s consortium in 2020, to great success for the category. The pink fizz already accounts for 12% of total Prosecco sales, demonstrating real consumer demand for a Rosé style, according to Della Vite co-founder Numa Heathcote.

He said: “More broadly, we know pink is a big trend across the drinks category, but in so many cases the focus is more on the appearance, rather than the taste. So, we saw a real opportunity to challenge that by creating a vintage Prosecco Rosé, which not only looks great, but also tastes exceptional.

“In line with Della Vite’s mission, we’re confident our new launch will contribute to building a reputation and demand for quality across the entire Prosecco category.”

In order for it to be able to be called rosé Prosecco DOC, the wine needs to be aged for at least 60 days and it must include 10-15% Pinot Noir in the blend.

Co-founders of Della Vite, Chloe, Poppy and Cara Delevingne, commented on the launch: “Less than two years after launching, we’re so excited to be starting on the next phase of the DV journey with the launch of our Prosecco Rosé.

“Della Vite was created out of our shared love of Prosecco, and the realisation that in the UK, people aren’t as aware about the Prosecco they’re drinking – there aren’t specific brands that people favour, and the quality is often not as good as it should be.

“Della Vite is on a mission to change that by creating a brand of great-tasting Prosecco, which is synonymous with quality, while being playful enough for those more spontaneous drinking occasions. Our latest launch very much has the same ambition of breathing new life into the pink drink market and making it a category known for its quality credentials.”
