Johnny Depp and Amber Heard ‘spent US$160,000 on wine during marriage’
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard ran up a hefty US$160,000 tab at a Los Angeles wine merchants over the course of their marriage, Depp’s business manager revealed in court.
The Johnny Depp/ Amber Heard trial has gripped Hollywood and beyond, with endless column inches devoted to revealing the latest bizarre claim made in court.
Depp is suing Amber Heard, alleging that she defamed him in an op-ed article on domestic violence in The Washington Post in 2018. Depp says the article ruined his career and reputation.
Now, Ed White, Johnny Depp’s business manager, has testified in court. Among the revelations came the claim that the couple spent some US$160,000 at Los Angeles purveyor Twenty Twenty Wine Merchants.
According to White, Amber Heard had a penchant for a wine produced by Vega Sicilia, Spain’s “first growth and most prestigious wine estate” as described by BBR.
White testified that since the pair’s divorce, Depp’s wine bill has dried up. “His wine bill has shrunk to virtually zero because he does not continue to consume much in the way of wine,” he said.
Depp testified earlier in the trial that Amber Heard would drink two bottles of wine a night, reports say. He has previously stated that his wine bill totalled an eye-watering US$30,000 per month.
