Ferrari Trento celebrates 120th anniversary with carbon neutral status
Italian sparkling wine producer Ferrari Trento is celebrating its milestone 120th anniversary with the news that it has achieved carbon neutrality, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
Ferrari Trento has gained Carbon Neutrality scope 1, 2 and, partially, 3 certification. This status, the producer says, brings the company’s direct emissions impact to zero, after several years of schemes aimed at reducing emissions.
Ferrari Trento purchases its energy solely from renewable sources, and has invested in a photovoltaic plant, also commonly referred to as a solar park, which is located on the winery’s roof.
“We are celebrating the hundred and twentieth anniversary of Ferrari Trento following a record year, and we are particularly proud that this important milestone coincides with the achievement of Carbon Neutrality,” declares Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento.
“For 120 years our winery has had a virtuous relationship with its local area, which we are extremely keen to promote and protect. Attention to sustainability has always been part of our way of running our business and the reduction and compensation of CO2 emissions is a further sign of this commitment, which we share with the whole of our team. As we celebrate our history, we also want to look towards the future: it is therefore our responsibility to make a contribution in the battle against climate change.”
The producer’s emissions have been certified and compensated by ClimatePartner, a global firm specialising in the evaluation and solution of problems regarding climatic impact using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
