Another trip around the sun, and another day celebrating the wonderful women of the world. Here is a list of our top things to do to mark the occasion.

Celebrating the female chef

Clare Finney, food writer and author of The Female Chef, has teamed up with London restaurant Carousel to bring diners a line up of some of the UK’s most talented chefs. Hosted over five nights, these five female chefs are “rewriting the rules and redefining what it means to be a successful chef,” according to Finney.

A portion of each ticket sold will go to a women’s charity of each chef’s choosing. The charity chosen by chef Romy Gill on the last day of the event at Carousel will benefit the #CookforUkraine campaign.

Tickets for the event are £65 for a pre-paid set menu.

Toasting and tasting

Open to any and all women looking to debunk some of the mysteries of the wine world, wine merchant Corney & Barrow is hosting an International Women’s Day event on 17 March.

A tutored tasting showcasing some of its international wines will be followed by a masterclass with Wendy Outhwaite from Ambriel before a sit down dinner.

Tickets are £75 per person and the event will be hosted at Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell.

Fancy a boogie?

Dance your socks off for International Women’s day with a series of free-to-attend female DJ sets in support of women in the music industry, hosted by The Distillery Bankside at Hilton London Bankside.

From now until 24 March, an extensive cocktail, wine, and craft beer menu will be on hand at The Distillery, which specialises in gin and cocktails.

DJ duo Lara Fraser and Laura Pradelska have kick-started the celebrations, with other acts to be announced.

Mother of all cocktails

Elsewhere in the world, Singapore rooftop bar Smoke & Mirrors is shining a spotlight on front of house woman Kathleen Galicia. To mark this monumental day, Galicia has created her very own cocktail special: the Forget-me-not cocktail, featuring gin, elderflower, lavender bitters, wolfberry and Ancho Reyes.

The cocktail is a luminous purple, reflecting the colour of International Women’s Day, and free-pouring Champagne will be available on the night.

The Forget-me-not cocktail is priced at SGD $18, and Champagne will be available for two hours from 7.30 – 9.30pm at $88.
