London Wine Fair sees big hitters come back for 2022
With three months to go until the London Wine Fair takes place, several high-profile producers, agents and generic bodies have booked stands for the show, either for the first time or following a significant break.
According to information sent to db this week, the London Wine Fair is “very close to selling out”, with 85% of the space reserved, which the organisers say “reflects a renewed confidence in the UK wine market”.
Among those choosing to take stands at the fair after a significant break are wine regions Bourgogne and Chablis, associations such as Wines of Chile – who are taking a major pavilion – and producers such as Domaine Bousquet, who is coming to the fair for the first time – see below.
As previously reported by db, following an exclusive interview with the title last month, London Wine Fair director Hannah Tovey said she is “very positive” about this year’s show, which is larger than the 2020 edition, and “will sell out” – she assured us.
Tovey also told db that she was “aiming” for 350 exhibitors at the June fair, which represented a small increase on the last physical event, which was in 2020, and that the exhibition was “all but sold out”.
She said, “We will sell out, the hall will be full – already we have 85% of the stands reserved and there is a lot of pending business.”
See below for some of the high profile names taking stands in 2022.
- Wines of Chile has confirmed a national pavilion – the first in several years.
- Distell, South Africa’s leading producer of wines, spirits and ciders, will also return after a long absence.
- Bourgogne and Chablis will return to the show, with more than 40 Burgundy producers hosting a marketplace-style pop-up tasting on the first day, with an additional free pour tasting of wines from Chablis.
- Domaine Bousquet, Argentina’s leading organic winery, will also take a stand for the first time, as it increases its commitment to the U.K. market.
- And from Portugal, a large collective of new-to-market producers from the Península de Setúbal will attend for the first time.
- U.K. agents, including Hatch Mansfield, Awin Barratt Siegel, Enotria & Coe, Richmond Wine Agencies and Felix Solis, will return to the Trading Floor.
Visitor registration is now open, with an ‘early bird’ rate of £35 for the live and digital show and £20 for the digital only event.
