David Hennelly celebrates 20 years at DB

Marketing director at the drinks business, David Hennelly, is celebrating his 20th anniversary at the title this month, having joined the publication in March 2002.

The much-loved figure will be toasted by the title’s team today, as the magazine also approaches its 20th anniversary – the first ever edition of db was June 2002.

David began his career in the wine trade in 1996 at Harper Trade Journals, and then joined the team at db as it geared up for its launch, which took place at Vinexpo Asia-Pacific in Tokyo in June 2002.

David’s long career in the drinks trade has ensured he’s been present at 25 editions of the London Wine Fair, as well as every Vinexpo Bordeaux since 1997, and multiple fairs in Hong Kong too.

In recent years he has worked closely with the db events team on educational masterclasses in towns and cities all over the UK as well as in Asia and the US.

He’s happiest at his local pub with a pint of lager in hand, or at the Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge Stadium as a season ticket holder at the football club.

All of us at db wish David many congratulations on his longstanding and successful career in the wine trade, and thank him for his loyalty to the magazine.
