Wild Beer Co launches six collab beers for the Six Nations
The Wild Beer Co has launched six collaborative beers with six breweries to celebrate the Six Nations rugby.
The collaborations, which feature beers from Manchester Union (England), The Piggy Brewing Company (France), Ora Brewing Company (Italy), Fierce Brewing (Scotland), Polly’s Brew Co (Wales) and O’Hara’s (Ireland), have been brewed to bring together some of the best brewers from each nation to create six unique beers to toast every try of the tournament.
The Manchester Union collaboration is a 4.8%-ABV amber lager called Wild in Union; the Polly’s Brew Co collaboration is a 5%-ABV mixed fermentation pale ale called Iechyd Da; the O’Hara’s collaboration is a 4.9%-ABV red ale and coffee beer called Shoulder to Shoulder; the Ora Brewing Co collaboration is a 4.7%-ABV citrus Italian Pilsner called Qui Ora; the Piggy Brewing Company collaboration is a 4.6% pale ale called La Chasse and the Fierce Beer collaboration is a 5%-ABV session Scotch ale called Raging Storm.
Each case purchased will see the consumer entered into a competition to win over £800 worth of prizes: A year’s supply of Jolly hog sausages, a Kettle Joe Smoker from Kamado Joe and a £100 voucher from Wild Beer Co. Plus, 10% of revenue from each pack sold directly by Wild Beer Co will go to the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
Speaking to db, Andrew Cooper, co-founder of the Wild Beer Co said: “The Six Nations is always one of the first big sporting occasions of the year, for many it’s the first time they gather together with friends after dismal January. This year particularly, we wanted to create some beers that epitomised this feeling. We spoke to a few of our friends at other breweries and they loved the idea – especially having six breweries from each of the six nations on board. Many people have been struggling with their mental health over the last couple of years, it’s been hard in so many ways, so partnering with CALM, and trying to bring people together, felt like a little step in the right direction.”
The beers will also be available to buy at Wild Beer Co’s Wapping Wharf bar in Bristol, The Craft Beer Co in Covent Garden, the Old Fountain in Shoreditch, the Gypsy Queen in Kentish Town and Fierce Bar in Aberdeen.
Each box contains 12 beers – two from each collaboration and will retail at £32.50 from the Wild Beer Co webshop.
