Shepherd Neame wins contract to brew Singha beer for the UK market

Thailand’s Boon Rawd Brewery Company has signed a deal with Kent brewer Shepherd Neame to brew Singha in the UK for the first time.

Shepherd Neame has been the exclusive distributor for Singha beer in the UK since 2019. However, it will now brew the beer as well, in a first on British soil.

The evolution of the partnership will see Singha brewed and packed in 330ml and 630ml single bottles, as well as 30l and 50l kegs at its Faversham brewery in Kent. Production is already underway.

Shepherd Neame plans to distribute Singha to selected pubs in its 310-strong portfolio across London and the South East. The beer will continue to be available in retailers and restaurants all over the world.

Shepherd Neame’s chief executive Jonathan Neame said: “We’re delighted to build on our successful partnership with Boon Rawd Brewery, drawing upon our well-established brewing credentials to produce Singha and continue working to raise its profile as an exceptional world lager throughout the UK.”

The company will continue to manage Singha’s UK marketing, sales and promotion on behalf of Boon Rawd, which is Thailand’s oldest brewer.

Khun Bhurit Birombakdi, CEO of Boon Rawd said: “We are extremely happy to further strengthen our successful relationship with Shepherd Neame. We both share the same family values and commitment to quality, and look forward to working together to continue serving our British consumers.”Singha, the number one beer in Thailand and the fastest growing in the market, has been available to British consumers since 1974.

Shepherd Neame, which counts Spitfire Amber and the Whitstable Bay collection among its other home-grown beers, is also the sole UK distributor for Truly Hard Seltzer.
