Guinness launches Bourbon barrel-aged Chocolate Mint Stout for Christmas
With Christmas products already jockeying for position in the aisles, Guinness has entered the fray with a Kentucky Bourbon barrel-aged Chocolate Mint Stout ready to kick off your festive fun.
The Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, which is in the fourth year of its barrel-aged beer program, has announced the launch of the festive expression, which is sure to bring some minty freshness to your Christmas lineup this year.
The festive stout is brewed with dried mint leaves, aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels, and then conditioned with pure cacao and packs a Christmassy punch with 10.8% ABV.
“With each new beer from our barrel-aging program, we look to challenge ourselves with flavor combinations and tastes that most people wouldn’t expect from Guinness,” said Sean Brennan, Head Brewer at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore. “And that’s exactly what we’ve got here with our Chocolate Mint Stout Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. Chocolate and mint are a classic flavor combination, and the way those flavors interact with the bourbon character leads to something really special. It’s the perfect beer to sip on after a solid meal with family and friends over the holidays.”
Pair with your favourite dessert for an indulgent treat, wow your friends at a holiday party, or recline on your sofa after a day’s hard graft with the smooth tipple.
If you’re late to the party when it comes to Christmas launches this year then fear not. Aldi, for one, has gone bonkers for Saint Nick with their wide array of boozy advent calendars. From wine and cheese, to beer, sparkling wine and gin, there’s sure to be a boozy calendar to suit your preferences.
