Diageo redesigns Gordon’s gin bottle using 85% recycled glass
Gordon’s Gin has revealed a new bottle design, made from up to 85% recycled glass, which is being rolled out globally.
Made at Cameronbridge distillery in Fife, which is 100% powered by renewable electricity, the newly designed range is an important step in Diageo’s plight to make its packaging widely recyclable by 2030.
Mark Jarman, global head of Gordon’s gin said: “We are incredibly proud to launch the latest fresh and stylish design for Gordon’s gin, which builds on our rich history and familiarity whilst highlighting the taste cues and making the bottle even more attractive. On top of the eye-catching aesthetics, this bottle is also part of our journey towards our wider sustainability targets, ensuring all packaging is widely recyclable by 2030. So, we are incredibly proud of this latest development.”
The new Gordon’s gin bottle has been designed to retain the familiarity of the brand for its loyal consumers while also appealing to consumers looking for sustainably packaged products.
The updated design pays homage to the history of Gordon’s with nods to its initial conception in Southwark, London almost 250 years ago and displays a Royal Warrant, granted to Tanqueray Gordon & Co. as suppliers to the Royal Household, the same scripted Gordon’s font on a green glass bottle since the inception of the brand in 1769, and the boar’s head.
