New late-night drinking den to open in the heart of Soho

Louche Soho, a new 260-capacity three-storey venue, will bring live music, cabaret and a diverse nightlife to Soho following its opening on 8 October.

Louche bar with low lighting: New late-night drinking den to open in the heart of Soho

The new late-night bar, housing two stages, is inspired by the old, infamous louche Soho culture with its entertainment and style.

The team behind Records Bar are responsible for the new venue, which will be open six days a week, hosting cocktails and light bites alongside live music.

Inspiration came from the old Soho of the 1920s, and the bar’s aesthetic will embrace the area’s nightlife through the eras, championing the inclusive attitudes which made it famous.

Louche Soho’s raffish interior will tell the history of Soho on its walls. Split over three levels of an old townhouse, the site contains old-English panelled suites and hidden alcoves which complement the low lighting.

According to its creators, the bar’s interiors are a celebration of sexual expression, individuality and performance, showcasing everything from the glitz and the glamour to the misbehaviours and the underbelly of Soho. In and around the rooms can be found pictures, murals and hidden peep shows harking back to the Soho of the past.

Founder Howard Taylor says: “Every detail of Louche Soho takes inspiration from the notorious characters and attitudes of old Soho, from the low-lit interior styling to the diverse entertainment schedule, all to create a truly inclusive atmosphere. We’re excited to continue to build on our reputation for bringing great entertainment, delicious cocktails and outright fun to the London bar scene.”

A classic cocktail menu with a twist will complement the bar snacks and light bite menu available from early November. Cocktails served at Louche Soho include:

Watermelon Mezcalita
Sweet succulent watermelon mixed with smoky Mezcal and fresh lime with a watermelon sugar rim

Soho Spritz
Pink, light and refreshing spritz made with rosé cider

Umamartini
A complex Gin martini flavoured with fino sherry, elderflower and olive brine

Lady Stanley
Vanilla Vodka mixed with Chambord, Maraschino liqueur and fresh lime in tribute to Lady Stanley of Soho

Pear 75
Pear and blush peach flavours mixed with sparkling Prosecco Spumante
