Brad Pitt and the Perrin and Peters families have announced the launch of the second Fleur de Miraval rosé Champagne, with an anticipated price of US$400.

“This second edition [is] made up of 75% of Chardonnays of different ages [and] benefits from the richness of the 2012 vintage and the perfect balance of the 2014 vintage.” A press release reveals.

The remaining 25% is made up “of young Pinot Noirs from the terroir of Vertus”.

Brad Pitt said of the launch:

“I was impressed last year with the success of our first edition, Fleur de Miraval ER1. With ER2, we pushed the limits even further, we created new extremes for quality. Being the only Champagne house exclusively devoted to Rosé Champagne, each edition of Fleur de Miraval is a constant quest for beauty, a desire to create space for all possibilities.”

Fleur de Miraval is the only Champagne house exclusively devoted to Rosé Champagne.

The news comes as Angelina Jolie offloads her 50% stake in Château Miraval to the Stoli Group, who are looking to enhance their ultra-premium wine portfolio.

Speaking exclusively to the drinks business following the announcement, Stoli Group’s global CEO Damien McKinney said that the group had spent the last year repositioning itself, and was keen to build both its wine and spirits portfolio.

Tenute del Mondo, the wine division, is a co-owner (alongside the Frescobaldi Family) of iconic wines such as Masseto, Ornellaia, Luce, Castelgiocondo, and the owner of Achaval Ferrer and historic brand Arínzano.

“We’re on a huge transformation, which I started a year ago, with wines and spirits,” McKinney said. “This is the first big deal we’ve done on the wine side in particular. What’s great is that Château Miraval is clearly very popular – and there are three rosés and a Champagne, so that makes it very special.”
