Ryan Reynolds’ limited edition Aviation Gin hits Morrisons shelves in Wales
Morrisons stores in Wales welcome Wrexham AFC Aviation Away Edition gin to the shelves, in celebration of the local Welsh football club.
Aviation American Gin has released a limited edition bottle in celebration of Wrexham AFC’s new away game shirt.
The new release celebrating Wrexham AFC comes after Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney – made famous for his role in comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – bought the club back in February of this year. Reynolds celebrated the acquisition with a limited edition bottle carrying the Wrexham FC logo with a red label. Reynolds described the acquisition as the first step in what he hoped to be a “legendary underdog story”, as reported by Drinks Retailing News.
Aviation’s Away Edition gin will be available at nine Morrisons stores across North Wales: Wrexham, Colwyn Bay, Newton, Connah’s Quay, Denbigh, Caernarfon, Bangor, Saltney and Holyhead.
Justin Lennox, Morrisons local sourcing manager for Wales, said: “We’ve loved seeing the buzz around the place in the build up to the new football season, and being able to secure the services of Wrexham AFC’s official gin at nine of our stores is brilliant. It’s a Morrisons signing we’ll never forget and hopefully will bring a lot of joy to football fans in the area.”
Reynolds purchased Aviation back in 2018, before it was acquired by Diageo in September 2020. Reynolds retains an ongoing ownership interest in the company.
The limited edition gin will be on sale for £25 in Morrisons until 14 September, before returning to its regular price of £28.
Reynolds recently offered fans a round of free drinks on him for National Aviation Day on 19 August. Find out more in that here.
