Costco’s wildly popular wine advent calendar returns for 2021

Each year, Costco’s wine advent calendar causes much fanfare and excitement among fans of plonk, Christmas and wholesalers.
The heady mixture of the festive season and booze has a long and storied history, from eggnog through to the seemingly never-ending supply of Christmas-themed liqueurs that Aldi brings out every year. The Costco wine advent calendar has earned its place among the annals of Christmas quaffing.
So what can customers expect from this year’s offering?
“We didn’t develop this idea, but we Costco-sized it,” Costco wine buyer Kirk Johnson told Costco Connection in an interview. “We made this item bigger and better by using half bottles instead of the standard 187-millimeter bottles you see in other packs. We also gather 24 unique, premium-quality wines to create a treasure hunt for our members.”
“Each year we taste hundreds of wines in order to reach the final assortment,” Johnson continued.
“It’s our goal to make the pack a fun and interactive discovery of wines from around the world.”

How much does the wine advent calendar cost?
The Costco wine advent calendar will go on sale from October and will cost customers US$99.99 to purchase.
“It might be Advent-ageous to add two very fun beer and wine holiday items to your Costco list in early September, as they sell out quickly,” Costco said in Costco Connection.
The 24 half-bottle wine advent calendar tends to sell out extremely quickly, so those wishing to take advantage should be prepared to act swiftly to secure theirs.
