New podcast launched for people who are intimidated by restaurant wine lists
The Wine List podcast is billed as a “new podcast for people who like wine but don’t know much about it”, a straight-talking guide to wine appreciation for the wine drinker who wants to learn more about what’s in their glass.
We reported back in 2018 that some 73% of Brits are intimidated by restaurant wine lists, while 58% said that they did not feel they had the requisite knowledge to order plonk with any level of confidence.
If this sounds like you or someone you know, then the Wine List podcast could be your next listen, hosted by Management Consultant and ex stand up comedian Oliver Turnbull and freelance journalist and wine educator Richard Lane.
The podcast takes Oliver on a journey of discovery, as the duo sample wines from across the globe and Richard Lane (DipWSET) guides his protégé through the seemingly complex world of wine.
By the end of the series, Oliver finds a grounding and confidence in his knowledge of wine, and overcomes his fear of ordering from his favourite restaurant – Chez Bruce’s – extensive wine list.
If you are looking for a written recommendation of where to drink well in London’s many wonderful restaurants, then you might consider Wine List Confidential – a comprehensive guide to the best restaurants for wine lovers in London.
