These are the 10 most popular drinks orders from restaurants

While the pandemic did offer the opportunity to do some serious market research drinking of supermarket wine offerings, as well as a world tour of lager via my local off license, it’s probably fair to say that drinks often taste best when they’re mixed and recommended by the experts.
And new research from food delivery behemoth Grubhub that forms part of its annual State of the Plate report has revealed the 10 most popular drinks orders from restaurants.
World lagers, in particular beers imported from Holland and Japan, were big favourites in the poll, while fruity cocktails also enjoyed something of a renaissance.
Here’s the top 10 in full:
- Dutch lager
- Hot sake
- Japanese beer
- Hibiscus Margarita
- Blood Orange Margarita
- Aperol Spritz
- Hard Seltzer
- Peach Paloma
- Piña Colada
- Mimosa
Two fruity Margaritas make the top five, while the ever-popular summer cooler Aperol Spritz enjoys a strong showing as well.
