The ever-increasing surfeit of celebrity drinks brands is showing no signs of sating its voracious appetite for Tequila, as Eva Longoria has reportedly become the latest big name to get involved in Mezcal.
According to a report from celebrity-focussed publication Page Six, 46-year-old Longoria is believed to be gearing up to launch her Tequila in August.
Longoria, who is of Mexican descent, has “has spoken proudly of her heritage” and has “authentic Mexican roots, straight from the heart of Jalisco.” According to the publication.
If Longoria does indeed launch her own drinks brand, she will be joining a long line of celebrities who have entered the Tequila business, including but not limited to: George Clooney, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Bryan Cranston and Kendall Jenner.
Indeed, we reported last week that Kendall Jenner had enjoyed remarkable early success with her 818 Tequila brand.
A source said that Jenner’s Tequila could “could barely meet the consumer demand”, amid reports of store shortages within 24 hours of the release.
“Retailer and distributor chatter is this is the best spirits brand launch they’ve ever seen in this price range”. The source said.
