Inmate reveals how prison ‘wine’ is made using three ingredients
A prison inmate has revealed the fascinating process behind how he makes ‘wine’ from just three ingredients that are readily available to inmates as commissary items.
The inventive inmate in prison in the United States uses three readily available items for his prison-made wine: Mountain Dew, orange juice, and gummy bears.
All three ingredients are readily available to him as commissary items.
The man in question, who uses the handle calidago23 on TikTok to share his creative inventions – that include his versions of takeaway favourites and even a chocolate milkshake, revealed the process in a video uploaded to the social media platform.

Per Indy100, the process involves mixing the three ingredients together in an available container and then leaving the mixture to ferment for a week.
And commenters were fascinated by the creation.
“The real question: what does it taste like?” one commenter enquired, while another added, “My dad tried making wine like this not too long ago”.
“Getting ready for the weekend!!!” A third commenter wrote.
Earlier this year, we reported the news that the man who ran the world’s largest wine Ponzi scheme had been released from prison a year earlier than anticipated. You can read the full story for yourself here.
