This week in the world of drinks: Diageo has made Scotch Whisky history after reopening the iconic “ghost” distillery of Brora in Sutherland, Scotland, the Delevingne sisters Proscceo brand Della Vite partners with The Goring on a ‘Lobster and Fizz’ Garden, and the world’s largest bottle of gin is unveiled at the Grand Central Hotel.

Camden Town Brewery has launched a limited edition beer for Arsenal fans in celebration of their iconic ‘double’ winning season 50 years ago, with the can inspired by the team’s yellow and blue away kit of that season.

Della Vite, award-winning Prosecco brand created by the Delevingne sisters, has partnered with London’s The Goring to launch the ‘Lobster and Fizz’ Garden, and it’s open now. The garden is intended as an “oasis of calm”, in which friends and family can catch up and celebrate the return of hospitality.

Busch Beer has brought their limited edition ‘Corn Cans’ back, to help raise awareness and funds for farmers across America. Busch is looking to shift its advertising dollars for Corn Cans from commercial billboards, to barns, sheds and other freestanding structures owned by farmers across the country.

Grant Whiskey has unveiled its first ever sniffer dog, Rocco, a one-year old cocker spaniel who has just landed a highly coveted role in the spirits industry. After enduring an intensive six-month training program, during which he learned to hone his highly developed sense of smell to benefit Grant Whisky’s quality control processes, Rocco has now been given the run of the place, as evidenced in the adorable picture below.

Diageo has made Scotch Whisky history after the iconic “ghost” distillery of Brora in Sutherland, Scotland, officially began production after its meticulous restoration was completed. The distillery was closed in 1983 after a challenging time for the industry, and its reopening marks renewed faith in the future growth potential of the Scotch whisky category.

Jawbox Gin has unveiled the world’s largest bottle of gin at the five star luxury Grand Central Hotel in Belfast. The one-of-a-kind bottle stands at 73cm and holds 32 litres of the brand’s 47% Export Strength gin. That’s the equivalent of nearly 46 standard bottles of gin.

Scandinavian spirit Nuet Dry Aquavit kicked off its Urban Forgaing event this week, with partner bars in London serving specials such as the Nuet Spritz to commemorate its arrival in the UK and Norway Day (17 May). Bars such as HIDE in Piccadilly and ETKE Nordic Kitchen hosted the brand’s cocktail evenings. 43% ABV Nuet Dry Aquavit is available to purchase from 31 Dover, for an of RRP £39.95 per 700ml bottle. Events will continue until 23 May.
